After reviewing the primary route records, it was determined that Iowa 57 is a signed route, and that it should be reflected in the official description.

New Description- Iowa 57 and extensions in Franklin County are described as follows:

Beginning at the Franklin‑Hardin County line at SW Corner Section 34-T90N-R20W, Franklin County (NW Corner Section 3-T89N-R20W, Hardin County); thence easterly following substantially the south section line of Sections 34, 35, and 36‑T90N‑R20W and Sections 31, 32, 33, and 34‑T90N‑R19W to the west corporation line of Ackley connecting with Sherman Avenue (approximately SW Corner Section 35-T90N-R19W).

Ackley:

Beginning on Sherman Avenue at the west corporation line (approximately SW Corner Section 35-T90N-R19W); thence east on Sherman Avenue to the east corporation line (approximately 2050 feet east of the SW Corner Section 36-T90N-R19W).

Beginning again at the east corporation line of Ackley connecting with Sherman Avenue (approximately 2050 feet east of the SW Corner Section 36-T90N-R19W); thence easterly along the Franklin-Hardin County line following substantially the south section line of Section 36‑T90N‑R19W to the SE Corner Section 36‑T90N‑R19W, Franklin County (NE Corner Section 1‑T89N‑R19W, Hardin County) (SW Corner Section 31‑T90N‑R18W, Butler County) (NW Corner Section 6‑T89N-R18W, Grundy County).
